I like the brisket better than any that I can get at home in Texas. Both times it was so moist and not dry like some of ours. Bill let me try a rib.
They have excellent flavor, my choice for next trip through. I had stopped though for the brisket. I was referred by a friend-good advice. Pick it up (this advice) and go there hungry.

Slow Pokes BBQ, a nice free standing trailer out front and a sweet smell of BBQ. Now the Captain loves his Q! and I was right up there to get some The menu is just what it should be simple Brisket, Ribs, both Baby's and St.
Louis, Chopped Pork, good sides, Potatoes, Wings, Dogs, Gator, and a home made Dessert, Ice Cream Pie. I just wanted meat so I got me a slab of St Louis ribs they were very good! They were some of the best I have had. In fact there is too much good to say about this place that Don-V can't give me enough room to print it.

OH MY GOD! IT IS HEAVENLY...
The 40ish guys are from Oklahoma, of all places. One of them and his daughter and
son are there on the weekends. The Ribs are the best this 60 year old has ever had.
Brisket-I don’t know how he does it but it’s better than anything I’ve ever had. He
says the Ice Cream Pie is an old family favorite. He’s not large enough to have been
eating this stuff his entire life. This little lakeside town of Hernando needs to be on
everyone’s map! Don’t miss this little hot spot.

DEFINITELY WORTH OUR RIDE FROM THE VILLAGE!
We heard about this one at church. We were told to order the Slow Poke Dinner. At
$10 bucks I flinched but after all was said and done it was worth $20. Amazing flavor
and a wonderful little community. The Lakeside Community Park was about a 1/4 of a mile away. The staff was very
pleasant and helpful while we were ordering. I didn’t know beverages on ice were still available anywhere for a $1. Thanks
for the recommendation, Dave. Great spot and unbelievable food!
